Carl Hanstke

Carl Hanstke is a morning reporter for 680News. He arrived at 680News in 1999 and has proudly watched the station rise to become the number one radio news operation in the country. During that time he has been the “live on scene” voice for many major stories including the September 11 terrorist attack in New York, the space-shuttle crash in Texas, Hurricane Ivan’s destructive path through Florida and locally, the deadly hostage-taking incident outside Union Station.

The youngest of five children, he inherited his father’s love of hard work and a good joke. He lives on the Toronto waterfront in an renovated old house he shares with his intelligent and beautiful wife.

Waking up at 3:30 a.m. for work each day does not allow one much time for hobbies, but he still manages to play baseball and hockey and get to the gym the odd time. He also enjoys travelling and hanging out in my backyard with family, friends and neighbours.
